Hello
Nobody knows this.
Some herbals are generally supportive to health and do not affect growth of Bb, while others are toxic to bacteria (supposedly- NEVER proven).
My recommendations are as follows:
-If the prescriber is super well versed on effects of herbals, then it would be up to them to discontinue any herbs that are antibacterial four weeks prior to the culture.
-If not certain, then just stop them all (except simple vitamins) for the four weeks
-if they really want to know, then let them set up an experiment in which they test someone off and then on herbs to see whether an initial positive is still positive on the herbs, or not. Then they would know at least a little about what to do and not do.

Subject: Herbal therapies & Borrelia test
Hi Joe,Question I just came across about the Borrelia culture – I was telling Dr Yang that patients need to have been off all antibiotics for 4 weeks before samples are drawn, and she asked if this also applied to herbal/natural therapies eg. Cat’s Claw, AL Complex, Baron-White formulas, teasel, etc?
Thanks!
Tamara
